A beautifully designed space begins with proportion. Large format tiles bring calm, cohesion and quiet confidence to a room. They create that seamless, architectural finish so often seen in high-end hotels and contemporary spas. Choosing the right size is one of the most impactful design decisions you can make.
The most popular large tile sizes today are 60x60, 60x120, 90x90, 60x90 and 120x120 (in centimetres). In millimetres, that translates to 600x600, 600x1200, 900x900, 600x900 and 1200x1200 porcelain tiles. We use these interchangeably
Why Large Format Tiles Work
Fewer grout lines create visual flow. A 120x120 tile or 120x60 tile instantly makes a bathroom or kitchen feel expansive and considered. In small bathrooms, 60x60 bathroom tiles remain a favourite. 600x1200 porcelain tiles or 900x600 bathroom tiles elongate walls beautifully, while 90x90 tiles offer symmetry.
For entire house coverage on floors, 1200x1200 porcelain tiles deliver true architectural impact.
Beyond aesthetics, large porcelain tiles are practical. They are durable, easy to maintain and, in matt finishes, suitable for underfloor heating and non-slip environments (except polished finishes).
Our Favourite Large Format Options

A note on nominal sizes
Large porcelain tiles are displayed with nominal tile sizes, for example 60x60, 60x120. Nominal sizes are the expected production size of a tile. In practice a 600x1200 "60x120" tile might be 597mmx1197mm
Sometimes tiles are "rectified" which is an extra process in the production process of tiles where a tile is rotated four times and mechanically cut to an exact size. With that said, these might still have a tolerance of (+/-) 0.2% for a batch
